Declaración del capítulo cubano de la Red en defensa de la Humanidad.

Ha fallecido Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías, el Presidente de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela, y las organizaciones, artistas e intelectuales del capítulo cubano de Red en defensa de la Humanidad estamos conmovidos. Expresamos nuestras más profundas y sentidas condolencias al pueblo venezolano y a las autoridades bolivarianas, a todos los que en nuestra América y en el mundo han seguido día tras día, durante casi tres meses, el estado del Presidente Chávez, y también a nosotros mismos. Porque este es un dolor de todos, que sentimos todos por igual.

El Presidente Chávez se ha ganado un lugar cimero entre las personalidades contemporáneas, porque supo dedicar todas sus fuerzas y empeños, toda su inteligencia y su voluntad, a impulsar y fortalecer la Revolución Bolivariana, a procurar bienestar a su pueblo y defender la soberanía nacional, y al mismo tiempo realizó una tarea portentosa: ser un factor crucial en el movimiento continental en curso, que está empoderando pueblos, consolidando soberanías y uniendo voluntades hacia la integración latinoamericana y caribeña. Chávez ha sabido ser el gran continuador de la obra y el proyecto del Libertador Simón Bolívar, en esta hora de la segunda independencia.

La Red en defensa de la Humanidad sabe que la mejor manera de honrar a Chávez es seguir su ejemplo, continuar su obra, no ceder un ápice y construir la vida nueva y el mundo nuevo que necesitamos. Los pueblos lo saben y se han puesto en marcha. Entre todos lo haremos, y con nuestras batallas y victorias haremos también que Chávez viva siempre, eternamente.

Declaration of the Cuban Chapter in Defense of Humanity

President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Hugo Rafael Chavez Frias has passed away. Organizations, artists and intellectuals of the Cuban Chapter in Defense of Humanity are moved by his passing. We express our most profound condolences to the people of Venezuela and the Bolivarian authorities, to all in the Americas and the world who have followed President Chavez’ condition day-by-day for almost three months. This is a pain felt by all of us equally.

President Chavez gained a prominent place among contemporary personalities because he knew how to dedicate all his strength and effort, all of his intelligence and determination to drive and strengthen the Bolivarian Revolution, to secure peoples’ well-being and defend national sovereignty.

At the same time, he carried out a remarkable task: to become a crucial factor in the ongoing continental movement that is empowering the people, consolidating sovereignty and unifying the will towards the Latin-American and Caribbean integration. Chavez knew how to continue the work and project of the liberator Simon Bolivar, at this time in the second independence.

The Network in Defense of Humanity knows that the best way to honor Chavez is to follow his example: to continue with his work and not give up an inch; to build up a new life and the new world we need. The people in the world are aware and are already under way. Together, we will make this happen. With our battles and victories, we will make Chavez live forever, eternally.
